‘Andy @ Bowood’, ‘Professional Garden Services & Repairs Woodley Reading’ is Andy’s new business venture as a sole trader. He will be available for all of those smaller jobs around the garden that get left or overlooked. Broken paving slabs, loose bricks on walls, fencing, gates, timber building repairs along with countless other things that he can use his wealth of experience earned over countless years.
The decision to downsize was luckily an easy one , wanting more time for himself & his family, going through the Coronavirus pandemic and having aging parents has made Andy re-evaluate his life and future.
Andy Woodason created Bowood Landscapes in February 1992 and with only himself started creating beautiful gardens. He took on his first employee in June 1998 and started to take on slightly bigger projects. More employees came and went on to pastures new and at the end there were 8 employees, a lovely bunch of people who all have the same goal in mind, to create, enhance and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces for customers in the local and surrounding areas.
Andy instilled in every employee that all of their projects had to be completed to a very high standard and with integrity, this allowed Bowood to build long term relationships based on their reputation and excellent customer service. Any project we delivered would bring as much enjoyment to our team creating it, as it does to the customer who uses it. Andy was and still is committed to providing customers with workmanship they and he could be extremely proud of.
That statement is certainly true when it came to Hampton Court, Andy was approached in 2016 by Turismo de Galicia (The Galicia Tourist Board) as they wanted to promote Galicia (the northern region of Spain) as a tourist destination at the 2016 RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.
After many meetings and much research, ‘The Route of the Camellia” garden was born! A silver gilt medal was the well-deserved reward and Turismo de Galicia were more than happy for Andy and the team to do another show garden, ‘The Secret Pazo’s Garden’ in 2017 again rewarded with a silver gilt.
A local designer had heard about us in 2018 looking to build her first attempt at a show garden at the 2018 RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, the ‘Apeiron Garden’ was in interactive garden space that, from the outside, looked industrial in its rusted steel exterior. Open the door however and you were met with a beautiful meadow scene cleverly done utilising mirrored walls to create the illusion of space. Another silver gilt was awarded. Andy and the team also constructed a further show garden that year, again for the Spanish.
2022 brought Andy to the attention of the lovely, Gardeners World presenter Sue Kent to help bring to life her ‘Knolling with Daisies’ Garden design. Their combined efforts were rewarded with a silver gilt and the honour of being The People’s Choice award winners.
Andy has created so many amazingly beautiful gardens, many of them award winning during 31 years of running Bowood Landscapes and had the pleasure of working for the loveliest and loyal clients who he hopes will still be using his new business venture of ‘Andy @ Bowood’ from the 1st September 2023.
